KARACHI, July 27: The adviser to chief minister on Health, Faisal Malik, on Tuesday directed all medical universities of Sindh to conduct hospital management courses.
Talking to the vice-chancellors of Liaquat University and Dow University of Health Sciences at his office, the adviser said the amount received under self finance schemes should be utilised to upgrade medical colleges and to improve education facilities for students.
The VCs were asked to submit recommendations within seven days regard. He also asked the VC of Liaquat University to finalise arrangements for providing nursing training and employment opportunities.
Faisal Malik also took notice of a complain pertaining to the non-availability of medicines in the districts of Sindh, and inquired from the additional secretary procurement about the situation.
He was told that all EDO's were asked to inform the department about their urgent requirements but only eight EDOs had responded. Prof Jam Muhammad Memon, Prof Masood Hameed, Secretary Health Ashique Hussain Memon, Dr Ghulam Nabi Memon, Iqbal Dawood Pota and Iqbal Dewan attended the meeting. - PPI
