COLOMBO, July 21: Dubbing the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy, in England from Sept 10 to 25, 'a crucial' tournament, skipper Saurav Ganguly exuded confidence that India could win the title.
"India has done well in England in recent times. We have been playing well in our last two editions of the tournaments making it to finals on both occasions. We will be hoping to do the same this time round as well," he said.
India had shared honours with Sri Lanka in 2002 after rain interrupted the final in Colombo while in 2000 they lost to New Zealand at Nairobi, despite Ganguly scoring 117 runs.
India are grouped in Pool 'C' along with Kenya and their arch-rivals Pakistan in qualifying stage. -Agencies
