NEC meets on June 8

ISLAMABAD, May 22: Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Wednesday that the National Economic Council (NEC) would meet on June 8 to review the development projects and approve the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for 2002-2003.

He told reporters here that the meeting of the NEC, which was to be earlier held on June 1, as proposed by the Planning Commission, would now be held on June 8 under the chairmanship of President Pervez Musharraf.

The finance minister said that so far no date had been fixed for the presentation of the federal budget. The new budget was expected to be announced during the second or third week of next month, he added.
