MIRPURKHAS, July 7: The zila nazim of Mirpurkhas, Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani has reportedly accepted the demand of his Naib Nazim Younus Talpur to pay Rs20 million to him from the Rs50 million allocation at his disposal , for approving the annual budget of the district government.

Reports said that Rs50 million was allocated for the district nazim at which Naib Nazim Younus Talpur raised an objection. Reports further suggested that when the district nazim presented the budget in the district council meeting about 10 days back, supporters of the naib nazim, in their speeches, demanded one week's time to study the budget documents.

Naib Nazim Younus Talpur was then given one week as demanded by members of his group. On Tuesday, the session was to start at 11pm. But the naib nazim, with the support of various members of the district council objected to the allocation of a huge amount at the disposal of the district nazim and reportedly indicated that the budget will not be approved unanimously.

Meanwhile, DCO Mirpurkhas Muhammad Siddique Memon held a meeting with the naib nazim and agreed to place Rs20 million at his disposal from the allocation of Rs50 million which was for the zila nazim.

A settlement was hammered out and the session started three hours later which finally and unanimously approved the annual budget of the district government.
