KARACHI, June 30: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said that the government alone cannot undertake projects in the fields of education and health and urged private sector to assist the government in provision of health and education facilities to the masses.

He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Dental Hospital of Liaquat College of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Science, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, on Wednesday. During his tenure as governor, he said that things started getting well and improvement in industrial growth, trade and business activities was witnessed.

"But health is the most important field, where private entrepreneurs have to accept the responsibility," he said and expressed hope that the private sector would come up to take initiatives in the field.

Felicitating the college management for establishing the dental hospital, he said that it would be the first complete and well-equipped hospital in this part of the city.

Establishment of such kind of dental hospital was the basic and essential need of the entire locality of Gulistan-i-Jauhar and adjoining areas, the governor added.

He also lauded the management for their plans to organize seminars and hold free camps for creating much-needed awareness of dental diseases. In this regard, he assured of his full support, patronage and cooperation to the college administration.

Earlier, the governor visited various sections of Liaquat College of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and inaugurated the dental teaching hospital at the college. Among others, Dr Syed Ali Farhan Razi and Amir Chishti spoke on the occasion. -PPI
