JAMMU, May 20: An Indian soldier was killed on Monday when the Mujahideen attacked an army camp in held Kashmir, police said.
The attack on the army base of the 38 Rashtriya Rifles took place at Manjakot, Rajouri, 171 kilometres from occupied Jammu, around 2am (2.30am PST).
They said three fighters opened fire in the camp, killing one soldier. Other soldiers returned fire and fighting continued for an hour before the Mujahideen disappeared into the darkness.
The attack was the third on an army base in held Kashmir in the past week. On Tuesday, 32 people were killed at a military camp near Jammu. Most of the dead were wives and children of soldiers.—AFP
