KARACHI, May 16: Two suspected bandits were shot dead by police on Mauripur Road on Sunday. Police claimed that three armed men were trying to snatch a car (AFS-355) from a man, Eid Mohammad, on Mauripur Road in the limits of Kalri police station , when they saw Two policemen of SITE police, who were passing through the locality.

On seeing the policemen, the suspects allegedly tried to escape under the cover of fire, the police said. The two policemen returned the fire, killing the two suspects, who were later identified as Pervaiz and Fazal Subhan, the police claimed.

A TT pistol and several rounds of bullets were also recovered from their possession, it was further claimed. However, the police said that their third accomplice managed to escape from the spot. Bodies of the two suspects were taken to the Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was killed by some unknown persons near the Hub River Road on Sunday evening. Police said that Mohammad Ayaz, 30, was returning to the city from Hub on his motorcycle, when the unknown suspects on a bike shot him. The police suspected some personal enmity as a possible motive behind the killing.
