HYDERABAD, May 20: The newly elected members of the Sindh Workers Welfare Board, Qamoos Gul Khattak and Mazharul Haq, have urged the industrial workers to submit their complaints about the conditions at the labour colonies and workers’ welfare schemes.
They were talking to a delegation of workers of New Labour Colony, Hyderabad, here on Monday.
They said that the scheme to provide residential accommodation to the workers on payment of easy instalments spread over 20 years was being jeopardised.
They said that outsiders were being benefited at the cost of the workers and added that this could not be allowed any further.
They, however, said that it was not possible to check these irregularities without the cooperation of the industrial workers and union leaders.
They said that the Workers’ Welfare Board was giving priority to documentation and monitoring in all matters yet some vested interests had launched a propaganda against the board.
They said that it was the duty of the residents of labour colonies to bring irregularities to the notice of the members of the board.
ARRESTED: The Hyderabad range police have arrested an absconder in Hyderabad district, another absconder and two criminals in Thatta, two outlaws in Badin, four criminals in Sanghar, and four others in district Sanghar during the last 24 hours ending on Monday evening.
