LAHORE, March 29: The Pakistan Railways has asked the Pakistan Housing Authority to complete the Walton residential project as per agreement. According to Pakistan Railways sources , the PHA was bound to install a power distribution network and streetlights within six months of the receipt of Rs80 million and hand over possession of the flats to the Railways.

Whereas the payment was made on March 26, 2003, even the installation of power distribution network had not yet been completed, according to the sources. The agreement also included provision of services like water, sewerage and telephone.

However, the sources said, the PHA was insisting that the flats were ready to be taken over by the Railways. The sources observed that no Railways allottee would occupy the flats in the absence of basic utility services. -APP
