MULTAN, March 7: Local officials of the Anti-Narcotics Force seized about 10 maunds of superior quality hashish and opium in a raid here on Sunday. According to a Multan ANF handout, the force had been receiving information that a smuggler, Hamayun Badshah, was supplying narcotics to areas in Multan and Khanewal.

At this, an ANF team led by Captain Shaukat Jawwad Khan intercepted a car on a tip-off on Multan-Khanewal Road that was bearing a fake official number plate and overpowered Hamayun and his accomplices Nazeer Khan, Saeed Khan and Khan Maddar. When searched, the ANF people recovered the contraband from various hidden portions of the vehicle besides automatic firearm weapons.

Later, on the information gathered from the arrested accused during interrogation the ANF rounded up one Rehmat Ali from Khanewal. The ANF handout said that Rehmat had already been accused in a number of narcotics cases.
