HYDERABAD, March 1: Members of the Hyderabad Press Club held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday against the attack on the Karachi Press Club and assault on its watchman.

The president of the press club, Lala Rehman Samoon, condemned the attack, saying it was an attack on democracy, freedom of press and freedom of expression.

Our Mirpurkhas Correspondent adds: A meeting of the Mirpurkhas Union of Journalists held here on Monday condemned the attack on the KPC and demanded that the government should provide protection to journalists.

Union president Afaq Ahmad presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ahmad and union general-secretary Ghulam Rasool Mugheri said the incident was a conspiracy to harass journalists.
