SHIKARPUR, Feb 25: Five illegally detained people were freed by court officials in two seperate raids on police stations in Shikarpur and Jacobabad areas on Wednesday.
A judge recovered three illegal detainees, Abdul Karim Hakro, Ayaz Lohar and Munir Ahmed Mirbahar, from Stuart Ganj police lockup here on Wednesday.
Fourth additional session judge Islamul Haq Arain directed SHO Abdul Hameed Khakhrani, who had illegally detained the men, to appear in the court of the sessions judge on Thursday.
He had taken the action on the directives of the sessions judge who had ordered the raid on the police station on an application by Zafar Channa advocate.
SUKKUR: The judicial magistrate of Jacobabad, Syed Ghulam Shah, raided the Moladad police station and its checkposts on Wednesday and recovered two illegal detainees, Rasool Badshah and Nizamuddin.
The SHO, Imtiaz Ahmad Khoso, and his staff fled from the police station when the raid was conducted. The magistrate arrested head constables Ashiq Hussain and Mashooq Khoso, deputed at a checkpost of the police station.
He produced the arrested policemen and recovered detainees before the district and sessions judge, Syed Faiz Rasool. The judge ordered to register an FIR against TPO Lala Aijaz Tareen, Moladad SHO Imtiaz Ahmad and Abad SHO Riaz Ahmad Khoso.
He also ordered the release of the detainees and the arrested policemen. The police on Jan 20 had recovered explosive material from a bus and arrested its driver Rasool Bad Shah and cleaner Nizamuddin Pathan.
Mughal Khan, the owner of the bus, on Wednesday moved an application before the district and sessions judge, stating therein that the police had kept his employees in detention without registering a case against them. He said the police were demanding bribe for their release.
