KARACHI, Feb 19: Two persons were shot dead in different parts of the city on Thursday. An accountant of a private hospital was shot dead near M.A. Jinnah Road on Thursday.

Police said Shahzad Hussain, 26, working as cashier at the OMI Hospital, was going to a bank near Gul Centre when two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot at him and fled. Shahzad died on the spot, as the bullet had pierced through his heart.

According to the police, Shahzad was carrying Rs368,175 when the assailants came. However, they did not stop to take the cash. An ASI of the Nabi Bukhsh police station shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for postmortem.

Quoting the statement of the victim's father and brother, police said that Shahzad had taken the money from his father to buy an apartment. In Mauripur, a woman was shot dead reportedly on suspicion of being a police informer.
