ISLAMABAD, Feb 16: The value of dutiable imports registered an increase of 26.7 per cent during the July-January period of the current financial year over the same period last year.
Provisional figures released by the Central Board of Revenue here on Monday showed that the total value of dutiable imports stood at Rs314.999 billion during the July-Jan period of the current financial year against Rs248.575 billion during the same period last year, showing an increase of 26.72 per cent.
And the value of total imports stood at Rs474.262 billion during the same period under review against Rs416.054 billion over July-Jan last year, indicting an increase of 14 per cent.
According to the statistics, the value of duty free imports stood at Rs159.263 billion during seven months of the current financial year against Rs167.479 billion, showing a decline of 4.9 per cent. The statistics showed that the value of imports registered a constant growth during the period under review, indicating growth in economic activities.
