QUETTA, Feb 15: The law enforcement agencies have arrested 36 tribesmen for threatening the staff of Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed of Abu Dhabi in Qila Saifullah district.
Sheikh Nahyan arrived in Qila Saifullah on Saturday and started Hubara hunting in Khasnob area under tight security as the provincial government had deployed heavy contingent of police, levies and other law enforcement agencies to give protection to him and his staff.
Batozai and Dolatzai clan of Jogezai tribe are the inhabitants of the area. A senior official of the Qila Saifullah administration confirmed the arrest of over three dozen tribesmen, while talking to Dawn on phone.
He said that they were creating hurdles in establishing camps for the UAE prince. The tribesmen were demanding that the Arab Sheikh should launch development schemes in the area.
A tribal delegation met Sheikh Nahyan in Qila Saifullah and apprised him of their grievances. Qila Saifullah DCO Ali Zaheer said that the Arab dignitary had accepted their demands and ordered to initiate uplift schemes in the area. He provided a bulldozer to the tribesmen for levelling their land.
"The issue is now over and resolved. We are releasing the arrested tribesmen," the said, adding that after accepting their demands the tribesmen were cooperating with the administration and the hunting party.
BLAST: At least three personnel of the Frontier Corps were critically wounded in a landmine explosion, occurred in Kahan area of Kohlu district, some 600 km east of here, on Friday.
"Our three jawans including a non-commissioned officer received injuries in the blast", FC sources said while confirming the incident. According to sources the FC men were on routine patrolling at Kohlu Kahan Road during which their vehicle blown up by hitting a landmine planted by unknown people in the middle of the road.
