Razzaq bowls Lahore to easy victory

Published February 13, 2004

LAHORE, Feb 12: Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq captured five for 27 as Lahore scored an emphatic 10-wicket victory over Multan in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match at the Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

Razzaq's late burst of medium-paced bowling helped skittle out Multan for 140 in the second innings, leaving Lahore a target of just five runs on the fourth and final day.

The visitors collapse was triggered initially by former Test paceman Irfan Fazil, who removed both openers, Yasir Arafat and Usman Tariq. Medium-pacer Imran Sabir then struck twice to leave Multan in deep trouble at 78 for five before Razzaq destroyed the middle and lower order batting.

Earlier, Lahore gained a first innings lead of 136 after declaring 322 for seven with Razzaq blasting six boundaries in an unbeaten 39.
