Gold medalists to undergo dope test

LAHORE, Feb 12: All gold medalists of the ninth SAF Games in individual sports will be dope tested, a Pakistan Olympic Association press release said on Thursday. Some athletes from the silver medalists category will also be subjected to dope tests.

Similarly, any three players of a gold medal winning, any two players of silver a medal winning and any one player of a bronze medal winning team in football, volleyball and kabaddi will be dope tested, the press release further stated.

All arrangements in this regard have been finalised by the ninth SAF Games organising committee. All national sports federations of Pakistan have been reminded of their obligations and provided with a list of prohibited substances which had been listed by WADA and duly approved by IOC.
