Jamali to attend D-8 summit on 18th

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will attend the fourth D-8 (Developing 8) summit in Tehran on Feb 18. The preparatory process of the summit will begin with D-8 commissioners' meeting on Feb 15. The ministers' council will meet on Feb 16.

Additional Secretary Tariq Osman Hyder will participate in the commissioners' meeting, whereas Federal Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will represent Pakistan in the ministers' council.

Besides Pakistan, the D-8 comprises Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria and Turkey. The D-8 group was established in 1997 to focus on economic and commercial cooperation among its member states.
