KARACHI, Jan 22: The handing over of plots to allottees of Hawksbay Scheme-42 under Lyari Development Project will start immediately and all possible steps would be taken for provision of basic facilities of life in all the sectors of the scheme.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of Lyari Development Project held under the chairmanship of Project Director, Shafiqur Rehman Paracha here on Thursday.

The meeting expressed concern that the handing over of possession to allottees in Hawksbay scheme-42 and development works had been suffering delays for the last many years.

The meeting took important steps for making progress in respect of pending works and it was decided that first phase of handing over possession of plots to allottees will start from Sectors 11 and 12.

In the meeting, the allottees of Sectors 11 and 12 of Hawksbay Scheme-42 were told to visit the scheme and take a view of the ongoing development works and provision of facilities and clear their dues immediately to take possession of their plots.

The meeting was told that after rehabilitation of shiftees of Lyari river in Sectors 6, 9 and 10 of Hawkesbay Scheme-42, the basic necessities of life have been provided there and facilities of water, electricity, sewerage, roads, transport, sports, etc., are now available there while construction of main road for transport movement has also been completed. It was informed that after rehabilitation of shiftees in Sectors 6, 9 and 10, the local population is growing fast.-APP
