THATTA, Dec 31: A man was shot dead when he offered resistance to robbers who tried to deprive him of his motorcycle in the Brohi village on Tuesday night.

The man, Hakim Ali Brohi, 25, a medical store employee, was returning to his home in the Brohi village along with his relative, Ghulam Ali Brohi, on the motorcycle when the robbers intercepted them and tried to snatch the motorcycle.

Later, area residents, carrying the body, marched through the main thoroughfares and raised slogans against the district administration. Later, the people, carrying the coffin of Mr Brohi, staged a sit-in outside the Thatta Press Club to protest against the murder and the deteriorating law and order situation in the district. The National Highway remained blocked for over four hours.
