GUJRANWALA, Jan 24: At least 16 police officials, including a sub-inspector, were booked on charges of trespassing and humiliating a woman in Aimanabad on Saturday.

Reports said woman ‘A’ of Aimanabad moved the court pleading that a police raiding party, led by Sub-Inspector Amjad, intruded into her house to search a criminal and humiliated her when she protested.

She further alleged that the police took away Rs50,000 in cash, a mobile phone and other valuables when they did not find the wanted man.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Nazir Ahmad ordered registration of a case against the raiding police party, including an SI.

Later, police have registered the case against their own colleagues.

DETECTED: The regional management of the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) detected an embezzlement of Rs378,999 against four in-charges of stores in Ghakhar Town and got registered an FIR against them on Saturday.

Reports said regional manager Qaisar Alam checked the accounts of four branches and found that a heavy amount was embezzled. He said a case was got registered against Shehzada Iram Manj, Shakeel Ahmad, Adnan and Muhammad Rafiq.

Meanwhile, customers alleged that the accused in-charges of the stores were also involved in weighing less.

HEARING: The local Anti-Terrorism Court No. 1 will hear the bail application of accused Gulbaz alias Bilo Goraya, an opponent of killed felon Nannu Goraya, on Jan 30, while the court issued a notice to the state here on Saturday.

The court ordered the Naushehra Virkan police to produce record of the cases registered against the accused on the same day.—Correspondent
