LAHORE, May 12: The Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) has agreed in principle to send three swimmers in the Commonwealth Games and four swimmers in the Asian Games.
The decision was taken at the executive committee meeting in which the officials of the team were also finalized. Col Ahmad Nawaz Malik will look after the male swimmers while Veena Masud will be the manager of the female swimmers.
However, the trials of the swimmers will be held in June. The Commonwealth Games are scheduled at Manchester between July 25 and Aug 4 while Busan, South Korea, will stage the Asian Games between Sept 29 and Oct 14.
The executive committee also approved the activity programme for the year.
The 44th National (Seniors) Championship for Men will be held at Lahore by Wapda from Sept 12 to 14. The 12th National Juniors (Age-Group) Championship for Men at Peshawar in August by NWFP. National Women’s Open Championship will be staged either at Islamabad or Karachi in August. National Women’s Age Group Championship will be organised by Punjab at Lahore in October.
