THATTA, May 12: Police claimed on Sunday that two persons had confessed to killing two Hindu sisters, Ms Durpati and Ms Hiramuni last week. Both the deceased were sisters of Dr Hariram.

The sisters, who used to lend money on interest against gold deposit, were mysteriously killed last week. The DPO Thatta, Shahid Hayat, told newsmen that Prem Chand, one of the brother-in-law of Dr Hariram, in connivance with his brother Ghansham Das had hired a criminal for committing the murder.

Accused Prem Chand, in his confessional statement, said that on the refusal of Dr Hariram to wed his sister Durpati with his brother Ghansham, they decided to kill both the sisters.

The name of the hired assailant could not be ascertained. Police, however, claimed to have recovered a part of the looted booty.
