Toyota sales

CHICAGO, Dec 2: Toyota reported on Tuesday a 34 per cent drop in November US auto sales to 130,307 vehicles amid a broad economic slowdown.

The Japanese automaker said sales at its Toyota division fell 34 per cent to 114,084 while its luxury Lexus brand saw sales fall 35 per cent to 16,223.

Total car sales were down 32 per cent at 76,954 while truck and sport utility sales fell 36 per cent to 53,353 in November.

Sales for the year to date were down 14 per cent to nearly 2.1 million vehicles.—AFP
