KARACHI, Nov 12: Two ships carrying general cargo and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was on the higher side as compared to last couple of days where seven ships were berthed on Wednesday. They are: Longfin, Cape Negro and As Mars to unload and load containers, Morning Seagul, bulk carrier, Atlantic Express, to unload and load general cargo, and Rising Om, an oil tanker.

Sailing was also brisk as seven vessels, including Loa, Sinar Bintan, Bunga Teratai-3, Champion Brali, Johar, Nikoloas-P, and Deja Bhum departed on Wednesday, while As Mars, APL Zircon, X-press Khyber, Clean Seas, Rising Om, Atlantic Express and Hanjin Calcutta are due to sail out on Thursday.

The cargo handling activity at the wharves showed a sizable expansion as the total tonnage handled rose to 0.119m tons, comprising 47,305 tons of exports and 71,410 tons of imports were handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Nordwoge, with containers and Kang Sheng Kou, with general cargo.
