KARACHI: Academic calendar finalized

KARACHI, Oct 25: A high-level meeting chaired by the Sindh Secretary of Education, on Thursday, finalized the academic calendar for the province.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Education Department and the chairmen of the boards.

It was decided that from now on the examinations of class 6th to 8th would be conducted from Feb 15 to 28 and the results would be notified by March 20.

The matric examination would be held from March 1 to 15 and the results would be announced by July 31.

The exams of the intermediate classes would commence from April 15 and the results would be notified by Aug 15.

Summer vacations in the educational institutions will be from June 15 to July 31 and winter vacations from Dec 25 to Jan 2.

It was also announced that the 75 per cent attendance of the students had been made mandatory and those not meeting the requirements would not be allowed to sit in the examinations.—APP
