FCA to set wheat crop target today

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: The Federal Committee on Agriculture (FCA) will meet here on Tuesday to review food security in the country and set targets for Rabi crop production for the year 2008-09.

The meeting would be held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Food Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal), Nazar Muhammad Gondal.

The meeting is also scheduled to review overall position of agriculture outputs, senior Minfal official said here on Monday adding that meeting would be followed by press conference by the Minfal minister to apprise the media about the FCA decisions, he said.

Provincial ministers for agriculture and secretaries and federal secretaries are likely to attend the meeting, he added.
