MINGORA: Security post attacked

MINGORA, Oct 12: One person got killed and a security person sustained injuries during exchange of fire when the militants attacked a security post in Khwazakhela on Sunday

Both sides used heavy weapons to target each other’s positions. The security forces during search operation pounded the hideouts of the militants. Several houses were also partially damaged.

The security forces imposed indefinite curfew in different areas of Charbagh and Khawzakhela.

A spokesman for the Taliban, Muslim Khan, claimed that they had stopped the movement of the security forces in Gashkor area.

Meanwhile, the first round of talks between the peace jirga and hardliner cleric Maulana Fazlullah ended on positive note, sources said, adding that the Taliban had to call their Shura meeting to discuss the proposal of the jirga. — Correspondent
