PESHAWAR: ANP welcomes Asif’s speech

PESHAWAR, Sept 20: The Awami National Party leadership on Saturday welcomed the speech of President Asif Ali Zardari to the joint session of parliament and expressed the hope that the government would fulfil the people’s expectations.

ANP spokesman Mohammad Tahir Khan Khalil appreciated Mr Zardari’s announcements regarding financial autonomy, repealing of Article (58)2B and the 17 Constitutional Amendment.

He said the announcements by the president were a good omen for the people and it was expected that the government would meet the people’s demands.—Bureau Report
