Four killed in Bara clash

LANDI KOTAL, Aug 20: Four militants were killed in an exchange of fire with local people in Bara area of the Khyber tribal region on Wednesday.

According to sources, a pick-up carrying some local Taliban and their associates from Darra Adamkhel was attacked when ignored a signal by local people to stop.

The militants returned fire and an exchange of fire continued for some time. The local people fired a rocket on the vehicle, killing two militants on the spot and critically injuring two others.

The injured were taken to a hospital where they died.

In a related development, people in another area of Bara took four Taliban into custody.

Sources said that the Taliban were patrolling the area when they were surrounded by a group of people and forced to surrender.
