LANDI KOTAL, Aug 20: The political authorities arrested an Indian woman, who was trying to cross over to Afghanistan at Torkham checkpoint with-out valid travelling documents, officials said on Wednesday.
The woman, identified as Rehana, told the authorities during preliminary interrogation that she had married a man from of Kurram Agency, Abdullah, who ran a property business in Kabul. She said that she had come to visit her husband’s family in Kurram when she was held at the border.
NEPALI HELD: A Nepali man was also held at Torkham while crossing into Pakistan without valid travelling documents. The man, identified as Deep, told investigators that he was going back to his country when he was arrested at the Torkham border.
However, officials of the Intelligence Bureau said that the man was not a Nepali, but an Indian national, who did not carry valid documents.
MILITANTS’ BODIES: The bodies of five militants, who were killed in Kurram Agency clashes, were brought to their native villages in Khyber Agency for burial, sources said on Wednesday.
They said that three of the militants belonged to Malikdinkhel area, one to Bar Qambarkhel and one to Akakhel area. They were killed in the ongoing clashes in Kurram Agency.
