KARACHI, Aug 12: Five ships carrying containers, wheat, chemicals and furnace oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers, furnace oil and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Ten ships, Rosa-M, Maersk, Novazzano, Sima Pars, Maresk, Delmont, AI-Mansourah, Alexi-1, Albam Belle, Sinar Agra, Transport and Vema Ocean, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 90,246 metric ton comprising 71,768 tons of import and 18,478 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Rosa-M, Maersk, Novazzano and Sima Pars sailed out while Sinar Agra and Maresk Delmont were expected to depart.
