SARGODHA, Oct 24: Additional Sessions Judge Malik Riaz Ahmad Khokhar on Wednesday awarded death sentence on two counts to an accused in a murder case.
According to the prosecution, Farooq had shot dead his sister Naseem, her husband Zafar and her daughter Ghazala in 1999. Naseem had married Zafar against the wishes of her family.
The father and mother of Naseem had pardoned Farooq. The judge acquitted Farooq of the murder charge of Naseem. Her other brother was also acquitted, giving him the benefit of doubt. However, Farooq was awarded death on two counts for killing Zafar and his daughter Ghazala besides Rs200,000 fine.
Bhagtanwala police had registered the case.
CITRUS EXPORT: The Export Promotion Bureau has allowed for one year the use of wooden cartons for the export of citrus.
This was stated by a divisional monitoring and support cell spokesman on Wednesday. He said that the EPB had imposed a ban on the export of citrus in wooden carton.
The cell director-general contacted the EPB authorities in Karachi and convinced them to grant permission to kinno exporters to use wooden carton for one year.
