PESHAWAR, Aug 9: Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Friday said that his government in consultations with the allied parties was striving hard to steer the province out of the crises and enable its dwellers live a peaceful life.
Talking to a delegation at his office he said that the people of the province had given mandate to the ANP and the PPP-P for restoration of peace and resolving their problems, adding they were committed to come up to the expectations of the masses.
The chief minister also appealed to the masses to strengthen the hands of the government in ensuring peace and bringing an end to the crimes and insecurity.
He said that all the districts of the province would be equally treated as regards their development and special attention would be given to the areas neglected in the past, in a bid to remove the frustration of the people.
The chief minister said that political stability and peace at national and provincial level was imperative for facing the challenges and resolving the problems.
He expressed the hope that the leadership of the allied parties in the government through their efforts and wisdom would succeed in meeting the challenges.
The delegation led by Abbas Khan, Mian Tahir, Khalid Khan, Farmanul Haq and Riaz Khattak apprised the chief minister about their problems and assured full support to the provincial government.
Meanwhile, the CM directed for conducting an inquiry into the causes of recent floods in Peshawar and its suburbs keeping in view the public perceptions and press reports, says a handout.
The provincial inspection team has been directed to conduct an inquiry into the causes of devastating floods, which resulted in large scale loss of life and property on August 4 in Peshawar and its adjoining areas.
The inspection team will look into the matter that whether the alleged release of water from Warsak dam and Mulagori Tunnel led to exacerbating the effects of the floods or encroachments upon the dry river beds and waterways was a contributing factor towards the devastation.
