HYDERABAD, May 6: Former Haq Parast member of Sindh Assembly, Syed Afzal Ahmed Shah has expressed his concern over the supply of contaminated water to the people of Latifabad.

He blamed the civic agencies for negligence and demanded of WASA to rectify the fault immediately.

He said this during his visit to the Hilal-e-Ahmar and Shah Bhitai hospitals where he enquired after the health of children and elderly people suffering from gastro diseases.

He was informed by the people that due to widespread water contamination in Latifabad, a large number of residents are suffering from gastro ailments.

Expressing grave concern over the situation, the former MPA called upon the WASA officials to ensure clean water supply to the people of Latifabad.

WATER QUALITY: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Hyderabad Development Authority, has asked the people to use boiled water as its quality in the downstream of river Indus has deteriorated.
