MULTAN, July 29: Employees of local banks have demanded the implementation of 20 per cent raises in salarie announced by the government for its officials on the banking industry as well.
A meeting of Local Banks Employees Federation (LBEF) was held here on Tuesday, which was presided over by Malik Bashir Ahmed Tulla, who is the general-secretary of Bahawalpur region of Habib Bank Employees Union Multan.
LBEF President Syed Qaswar Razi condemned termination of employees from MCB Bank and demanded their immediate reinstatement besides the reinstatement of leaders of the MCB Staff Union.
Dilawar Abbas Siddiqi, the LBEF general-secretary, said that thousands of employees were terminated from Habib Bank, MCB Bank and United Bank after imposition of ban on trade unions by the previous government.
He demanded immediate implementation of the announcement of lifting ban on trade unions made by the prime minister.
