LAHORE, July 20: Pakistan Army dominated on all three days claiming a total of 14 gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals to retain the title of the National Swimming Championship which concluded at the Wapda Sports Complex on Sunday.
Army aggregated 218 points, leading Wapda, which claimed 96 points to come in second, by a wide margin.
Wapda claimed one gold, five silver and as many bronze medals, while Punjab which put up an impressive performance with only six points behind (96) took third place. Punjab’s medals tally was four silver and four bronze medals apiece.
Sindh (49 points, three bronze medals), Navy (31 points, two bronze medals) Higher Education Commission (nine points), were the other teams which earned points.
Earlier, Army also won the national water polo championship.

50m back-stroke: 1.Faiz Mohammad (Army) 29.66; 2.Atif Khawaja (Wapda); 3.Waheed Ali (Army).
50m breaststroke: Abdul Aziz (Wapda). Farman Israr (Wapda). 3. Sanaullah (Army).
