KARACHI, July 20: Two people were killed over minor disputes in different parts of the city on Sunday, police and hospital sources said.
Docks police said that a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by two brothers in Machchar Colony. Some children quarreled with each other while playing near a school that resulted in a brawl between their elders.
The police said Abdullah and his younger brother, Ayub, stabbed one Liaquat and fled. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi. The man received a single stab in his back that proved fatal, hospital sources said. Police said the victim was a labourer.
A case against the two brothers was registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s father, Shaukat, police said, adding that a search for the absconding suspects was mounted.
In Kalakot, a 30-year-old man was killed over a petty dispute.
Police said that Mohammed Shahid, son of Ghulam Rasool, was clubbed to death during a quarrel between the two groups of Noor Mohammed Village residents at around 2:30pm.
The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi. The victim received a single wound to his forehead by a blunt weapon, hospital sources said.
The quarrel started over the parking of a truck that belonged to the victim’s paternal uncle in a lane where a rival family was cooking.
