ISLAMABAD, July 7: The head of the suicide bomber who blew himself up in Islamabad on Sunday has been found, according to Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik.

“The investigators have found the head of the suicide bomber from the roof of a house and it has been sent to FIA for facial reconstruction and tests,” Mr Maik said.

Meanwhile, the number of killed in the suicide attack increased to 20 after an injured policeman died in hospital on Monday.

Referring to reports about Umm-i-Hassan, wife of Lal Masjid’s former Imam Maulana Abdul Aziz, planning to attack President Pervez Musharraf, the adviser said although he did not know if there was any such report but he had asked Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah to verify its accuracy.

The adviser said Rs300,000 would be paid as compensation to heirs of policemen killed in the attack while the injured would get Rs200,000 each.

More than 50 people had been injured in the attack and they are being treated at the Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences Hospital, Federal Government Services Hospital and Capital Development Authority Hospital.

No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
