TAUNTON (England), July 1: South Africa continued their build-up to next month’s two-Test series with England with a convincing showing, spinner Paul Harris apart, following the second day of a tour match against Somerset on Monday.

South Africa scored 515 for 3, then dismissed Somerset for 249, but decided not to enforce the follow on and finished the second day at 56-1 in their second innings.

Former Warwickshire bowler Harris struggled to find the right line and length and conceded 89 runs in 18.4 overs before picking up the wickets of tail-enders Mark Turner and Michael Munday.

He will be needed to provide effective back-up to the quicker bowlers and all-rounder Jacques Kallis when the first Test with England starts.
