KARACHI, June 15: Arrange-ments for the expected monsoon rains were reviewed at a meeting on Sunday.

Chairing a meeting of town officials, Saddar Town Nazim Mohammad Dilawer said that necessary arrangement were being made by utilizing available resources and manpower to handle the situation during the expected monsoon rain.

The meeting was informed that the municipal administration had set up a rain emergency centre at its office in Khayal Das Park near Haqqani Chowk. The emergency centre would remain operational round the clock to address the public complaints, while vacations of the staff concerned have been cancelled.

Naib Nazim Nasir Temori, Town Municipal Officer Mukhtar Hussain and other officials were also present.

Meanwhile, Baldia Town Nazim Kamran Akhtar inspected the ongoing uplift works on a road linking UC-2, UC-3 and UC-4.

He said a network of wide roads had been laid across the town. He said works were being carried out in all union councils on equal basis as the leadership was committed to serving people without any discrimination. “Efforts are being made to solve other problems of the town residents,” he said.
