BAHAWALNAGAR, May 2: The government will make every possible effort to facilitate farmers during the wheat procurement.
This was stated by Punjab Governor Lt-Gen Khalid Maqbool (retired) while addressing a gathering of councillors, Nazimeen, farmers and people from various walks of life here on Thursday.
He said the government had purchased five to six per cent more sacks this year.
President Musharraf had enhanced the limit of loan for the farmers, he said.
He maintained the government had millions of rupees of the sugar cess fund, adding an amount of Rs10 million would be spent from the fund on the construction of roads in the district.
