KARACHI, June 1: On the directives of City Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal, the city district government Karachi has chalked out a technical strategy to prevent any unpleasant situation during the coming monsoon and to implement the decision taken by the cabinet meeting on a power-saving plan.

The local taxes department of the city government has in this connection informed all advertisers that the monsoon is approaching rapidly and, therefore, the hoardings installed by them may be checked with proper inspection of sites by relevant engineers to prevent mishaps. In case any repair work is required, the same may be done on a top priority basis.

The advertisers have been directed to remove the sheets/panels of their land and rooftop sites within the limits of the CDGK till June 15, otherwise the department will remove them without any further notice. However, the advertisers may display skin on their sites as usual.

The local taxes department has also prepared a technical strategy for displaying skins on sheet-less sites and the advertisers registered with the CDGK have been advised to obtain details of the technical strategy from the office of the district officer for local taxes to save the city from any unpleasant situation or incident.

The advertisers working with other stakeholders and who are not registered with the city government have also been invited to obtain technical details for displaying skin on sheet-less sites.—PPI
