SIALKOT, April 30: A Pakistani villager was injured by Indian shelling on border village Patoli of the Bajwat sector here on Tuesday.

Official sources told Dawn Hasan Ali, 35, was working in the fields when some shells fired by Indian security forces hit him. He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the local CMH in critical condition.

Meanwhile, standing wheat crop over 250 acres was reduced to ashes due to Indian shelling in the Bajwat sector late on Monday night.

The sources said the Chenab Rangers thwarted another two major Indian attempts of fencing in Bajwat and Jammu-Saamba sectors, injuring five Indian troops and causing a heavy defensive loss to the enemy during retaliation.

The Indian security forces continued shelling on Pakistani border villages in Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Charwa, Bajragarhi, Harpal, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Jammu, Saamba, Akhnoor, Zafarwal, Shakargarh-Narowal sectors, damaging six houses.
