LAHORE, May 16: Gujranwala defeated Multan by 19-18 in the extra innings of the first match of the final super league of the 1st National under-15 baseball championship here on Friday.

With the score being 15-all at the end of the regulation innings, an extra innings was given to both sides in order to break the tie. That was when the winners scored four runs while Multan could add only three.

Mohammad Atif and Shoaib stole the limelight for the winning side, scoring four runs each with Fakhar, Umair Moughal, Mudassar, Umair Sabir and Fazal Khan adding two each.

Afraz Malik and Fakhar Alam were the key scorers for Multan with four runs, apiece. Zeeshan Sheikh, Ahsan Sheikh, Majid Bhatti also chipped in with two runs each.

Gujranwala, who entered the super league earlier after defeating Lahore in the last pool match on Thursday night by a score of 21-11, now face Faisalabad on Saturday.

Multan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala are the three outfits to play against each other in the Super League.
