ISLAMABAD, May 16: A senator of the Jamaat-i-Islami has submitted call-attention notices against the recent American missile attack on Bajaur, replacement of defence and security analyst Shirin Mazari and reported sale of diesel mixed with kerosene.
In one notice submitted on Friday, Senator Khurshid Ahmed criticised the attack on Damadola by a US drone in which 14 people were killed and a mosque and a house destroyed. He termed it an attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty and security.
In another notice, he stated: “Dr Shirin Mazari is an eminent analyst and she was famous for her independent expression on Pakistan’s security and defence affairs. Her removal from the post of Director-General, Strategic Studies, before completion of her contract period is a source of serious concern for the general public.”
The third notice is about a report alleging that kerosene-mixed diesel is being sold in connivance with some ministers.
