KARACHI, May 13: Seven ships carrying containers and to load cement, ethanol and molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was slow where only one ship, Kapitan Byankin to unload and load containers was berthed after the departure of four.
The departing ships were led by Daya Raag, Cosco Karachi, Gem of Dahej and Golden Arrow-2, while Sea Faulo-2, Kang Qaing, Jaikur-3, Nikolaos-P, Kapitan Byankin, Sea Globe and Megha Cement are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow as the total tonnage fell to 56,997 tons comprising 31,404 tons of export cargo including 12,000 and 7,105 tons of clinkers and cement and 25,593 tons of import tonnage, respectively.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: Amwaj Karoon to load 3,800 tons of cement, Oriental Preesia to load ethanol, Meg to load molasses, APL Dalian and Y.M. Moji with containers, Lalazar with crude oil and Beluga Fanfare with project cargo.
