KARACHI: Headless body found

KARACHI, May 12: The headless body of a young man was found in a desolated area in the limits of the Gulshan-i-Maymar police station on Monday morning.

Residents of the area informed police that a body was lying near Surjani stream. Police collected the body and shifted it to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The victim was in his late 20s.

Doctors at the hospital said the victim’s head was severed with some sharp-edged weapon at about midnight.

Fire

A fire broke out in the boat-building yard at West Wharf and damaged two tea shops early on Monday.

A KPT fire station official said the fire was caused by a gas cylinder which exploded at about 3am in one of the tea shops.—PPI
