KARACHI, May 10: The Sindh government appointed on Saturday Shahadat Awan Advocate as the Sindh prosecutor-general in the criminal prosecution service department for the next three years.
The post fell vacant after the first prosecutor-general, Rana Shamim, was appointed as a judge of the Sindh High Court following the imposition of a state of emergency in the country on Nov 3, 2007.
Mr Awan was born in 1952. He got his LLB and masters degree in political science from Karachi University. He was enrolled as advocate in the year 1981 and practised exclusively on criminal side. He had represented many leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party.
