KHAIRPUR, May 3: A man shaved off his wife’s head and tortured her over some domestic dispute. According to reports Abdul Ghafoor with the help of some persons shaved off the head of his wife Shahnaz in Soomar Maitlo village over domestic dispute and escaped.

Victim Shahnaz told reporters that she had left her husband’s house few days back and was living with her father. She said her husband along with some unknown persons shaved off her head as she was arranging fodder for cattle.

She had informed the Ahmedpur police of the incidence.

The rally after passing through Shahi bazaar Ranipur, reached the press club.

Leaders said price of milk and other daily use items had sky-rocketed in Ranipur making life of common man extremely difficult. They demanded the district government Khairpur to control price hike immediately.

SALU: About 100 students of Shahbaz Hostel, SALU Khairpur staged a protest demonstration on the National Highway on Saturday against daily 12 to 14 hours of load-shedding.

Students took out a procession from Shahbaz Hostel and after marching on roads reached the National Highway where they staged sit-in for about one hour. They raised slogans against Hesco.

Talking to reporters, they said they were living in the hostel and were facing hardships due to daily load-shedding.

They said their final semester examinations were scheduled for next month but due to load-shedding, they were unable to concentrate on studies.
